2024 in review

The year 2024 is drawing to a close. The holidays are just around the corner and the end-of-the-year spirit is omnipresent. Together, we look back on an eventful year with a lot of highlights and forward-looking changes.

That was 2024

Since the beginning of 2024, we have been operating as CeramTec Schweiz GmbH (in the EU as CeramTec Dentalvertriebs GmbH). The change of the company’s name serves as a visible sign of the unity of the companies within the CeramTec Group and emphasises our shared values and common future.

2024 was the year of training & CE. We co-organized and ran several successful training events, including Zeramex Live!, Zeramex Meet & Learn, the Zeramex Anatomy Course as well as several referral events.

Clinical cases as they are encountered in practice, documentations, live surgeries including case planning, drilling protocols and implant placement were the highlights of the Zeramex Live! training with PD Dr. Michael Gahlert & PD Dr. Stefan Röhling. We received a lot of positive feedback on the 4th edition of the training course, which took place in April 2024.

Four editions of the new ‘Zeramex Meet & Learn’ training series also received positive feedback from participants. The programme included a guided tour through the implant production facilities at our production site in Spreitenbach (CH), presentations by experts in the field of ceramic implantology, hands-on exercises, peer-to-peer discussions and the latest updates on the Zeramex XT implant system.

A very special highlight of 2024 was the ESCI satellite symposium in Bern (CH). Exciting lectures and case presentations by renowned speakers such as Dr. Jens Tartsch, PD Dr. Stefan Röhling, Prof. Dr. Ralf Kohal, Prof. Andrè Chen, Dr. Frank Maier, Dr. Lars Börner, Prof. Sebastian Kühl, updates on the evidence base, expert-level practical knowledge and a strong community defined the symposium.

The autumn was all about anatomy training. The Zeramex anatomy course organized in collaboration with the Department of Oral Surgery and Orthodontics at the University Clinic for Dentistry and Oral Health at the Medical University of Graz and led by Prof. Dr. Dr. Michael Stiller and Dr. Dr. Thomas Mehnert, provided the interested participants with a lot of learning experiences, in-person exchange and more confidence for their future implantology practice. The training in oral anatomy, the hands-on exercises on human specimens, the individual support from the course instructors and a get-together were particularly valuable to the participants.

Once again this year, we attended annual meetings of the DEGUZ, ISMI, JCCI, DGZI, BDO and DGI, met many interested colleagues and discussed specific topics in dental implantology.

Outlook for 2025: market growth, further clinical studies and popular event formats

We will continue to proactively shape the ceramic implant business in 2025. We anticipate market growth and continue to invest in the expansion of production capacities, clinical studies and training programmes.

The year 2025 promises even more scientific evidence for Zeramex XT: several retrospective studies on Zeramex XT, on which Dr. Dr. Thomas Mehnert, Dr. Elisabeth Jacobi-Gresser and Dr. Thomas Franke are working, are to be published in 2025.

New referral events and new dates of the ‘Zeramex Meet & Learn’ event series at the company's site in Spreitenbach (CH) are also being planned.

The 3rd European Congress for Ceramic Implantology of the European Society for Ceramic Implantology (ESCI) supported by CeramTec Switzerland (Company Partner) will be one of the further highlights of 2025, which we are already looking forward to.

We would like to thank you for your trust and cooperation in 2024 and look forward to a successful collaboration in the new year.

For the coming holiday season, we wish you a happy time with your family, restful days and a successful and healthy start into 2025.

Kind regards,

Dr. Ina Wüstefeld & team of Zeramex®/CeramTec Switzerland
